The action-adventure game, Darksiders
II, is coming to the Wii U later this year. In an interview with PushSquare, Haydn Dalton, of Vigil Games stated that the Wii U version
will be "the same game" as the 360 and PS3 versions, but
will make use of the new controller for an enhanced experience.
Dalton revealed that the touchscreen will be used to allow players
"to access stuff on the fly rather than jumping in and out of
the menu, but added "that's one small thing, but we're going to
be using it in a lot more interesting ways as well."
Darksiders II will take place in the
same time period as the first game, but players will take control of
Death the Horseman, rather than his brother War. The maps are said to
be double the size of those found in its predecessor, featuring city
hubs with non-playable characters who offer side quests, and a loot
system will also be included. The game is being developed by Vigil
Games and will be published by THQ. The exact release date has not
been announced yet.
