Ubisoft has issued a press release to announce the release of The Betrayal, the second episode of The Tyranny of King Washington, the three-part DLC campaign for Assassin's Creed III. As you probably know, the story takes place in an alternate history in which George Washington declares himself King of America after the success of the American Revolution and needs to be forcefully removed from office.
The press release says The Betrayal is available on the Xbox 360 and PC today, March 19th, and will be released on the PlayStation 3 tomorrow, March 20th. There is a brief statement at the end which says all DLC will be available on the Wii U eShop, but there is no indication of when it may arrive.

Assassin's Creed III (Wii U version) - Video Review by IGN
Assassin's Creed III is one of the biggest games of the year and the Wii U version is in stores now. The title is practically identical to the other versions, but features a few things that are only possible on Nintendo's new console. Gamers can play entirely on the GamePad, and the touchscreen can also be used as an overhead map. According to CVG, it will be receiving all the DLC as the other platforms. Since the game is a good port of solid source material, it's getting great reviews.
IGN has released their video review of the Wii U version, and they gave it the same score as the other versions. You can watch their review after the break.

Assassin's Creed III gets perfect score from Italy's Xbox 360 Magazine
![]() |
| According to the first review, Ubisoft hit the mark. |
The first review of Assassin's Creed III is out, courtesy of Italy's Xbox 360 Magazine, and the publication thinks it's amazing. Here's an excerpt:
“An absolute masterpiece to which the experience remains indispensable for any fan of video games and beyond, with a depth of gameplay and longevity unparalleled in the action scene, a game that will remain in the annals for a long time.”
That's some pretty high praise. In case you're wondering, they gave it a perfect score of 10 out of 10. We would normally provide a link to the review but apparently it's only in the print version of the magazine and isn't available online. We'll report more review scores as we hear them.

Assassin's Creed III on Wii U is "exactly the same game" as other versions
![]() |
| Very encouraging news. |
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Assassin's Creed III creative director Alex Hutchinson said that the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed III is "exactly the same game" as the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions.
Hutchinson: "I’m super excited whenever we demo the Wii U. It is exactly the same game that’s on the other platforms. And I know that sounds ridiculous, but it’s been a long time since I’ve shipped a game on more than three platforms where you could say it’s all the same. It’s not like some radically diminished version, so that’s exciting."
"It’s always a challenge with new hardware, but it’s also exciting. I love the smell of new plastic, that day you get home with your new piece of kit. And it’s been a long time since we’ve had a new piece of kit."
