Tekken Tag Tournament 2 hasn't officially launched yet but those that have got their hands on it are reporting that 6 hidden characters are on the disc. Namco-Bandai hasn't commented on the matter yet, but it appears that this has been confirmed as real, meaning there are more than 60 playable characters in the game. Shoryuken suggests it is possible that some of the characters may be distinct characters or simple palette/costume swaps. Just a reminder, the game received a 39/40 rating from Famitsu, and the Wii U version is still in development. We'll keep you posted.
