Liege coming to Wii U eShop

The Kickstarter campaign for the tactical RPG Liege has raised more than $81,000, surpassing the initial goal of $15,000 by a wide margin, which means the game will come to the Wii U. The indie title utilizes an art style that recalls the 16-bit era of gaming, and developer Coda Games has cited Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics as influences. The action is viewed from a top down perspective and there is plenty of combat.

The official Kickstarter page for Liege describes the title as "an interactive epic about ordinary people like us, placed in fantastic, larger-than-life circumstances. In equally vague terms, it's a game about family, power, love, death, and other way serious, totally heavy things." The description also reveals that "Liege is being planned as a trilogy with a continuous story arc, with the first release scheduled for early 2014." In addition to the Wii U eShop, the title is also in development for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, and Vita. Trailer after the break.
