Wario Land 4 now available on Wii U Virtual Console

Wario Land 4 is now available to download on the North American Wii U Virtual Console with a price point of $7.99. The classic 2D platformer was originally released on the Game Boy Advance in 2001, and received mostly great reviews from professional critics. Average gamers seem to have enjoyed it too, as the GBA version currently has an average of 4.4 out of 5 on Amazon, based on 82 customer reviews.

The gameplay is pretty much the same as Wario Land 2 and 3, meaning Wario can transform when touched by certain enemies or objects, temporarily gaining new abilities that allow him to overcome various obstacles. Unlike the second and third titles in the series, Wario is no longer invincible and can die, meaning gamers will have to be a little more careful.

Nintendo has released a launch trailer to coincide with the re-release of Wario Land 4. You can watch the video after the break.
