Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Will Have "Nintendo-like" Modes

The upcoming Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will have “Nintendo-like” modes, according to Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. Speaking to GamesRadar, Harada said that while the core gameplay mechanics will be the same as in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, the Wii U version will have features that are tailored to the GamePad tablet controller. This isn’t the first time Harada made comments about the Wii U — earlier this month he claimed that the Wii U CPU is underclocked, and that the Wii U GamePad controller is “distracting” in fighting games.

“There are going to be some modes that will be interesting, because they are very Nintendo like”, Harada said. He added that part of the Nintendo-like game mode was already shown at E3. He explains how at preview event at E3 back in June, players saw a mushroom drop down, which made one of the characters bigger as he ate it (referencing to Super Mario, of course). Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be released this September on the PS3 and Xbox 360, while the Wii U version will launch with the console, most likely in November.
