It's received some upgrades, but will it remain exclusive to Japan? |
Dragon Quest X was announced on September 5th, 2011, almost one year ago. The Wii version of the MMORPG was released exclusively in Japan on August 2nd of this year, but a Wii U version is in the works. Now, Square Enix has given us a demonstration of the Wii U version at the Tokyo Games Show, and revealed a few details about the upgrades it's received over its Wii predecessor. First off, the graphics have been enhanced and are in HD now, and the number of characters that can be on screen has been greatly increased. Also, it can be played entirely on the GamePad if a gamer so desires, and players can switch between the GamePad and TV via the menu. Graphics and control style aside, the content is essentially the same as the Wii version, and players can actually use the same account they've been using all along. Still no word if the MMORPG will see a release outside Japan though. Video after the break.
