The ESRB rating list now includes the Wii U as one of the platforms for the upcoming Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, so it seems like a sure thing at this point. It is being developed by City Interactive, who also created the first title. The tactical first-person shooter runs on the CryEngine 3, which, according to Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, "runs beautifully" on the Wii U. More info and gameplay trailer after the break.
The game is scheduled to be released on January 15, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, but there has been no announcement of a Wii U release date yet. While the first game had mixed reviews and had a metacritic average of 54%, the quality of many developers' games increases as they become more experienced, and the unique functions of the GamePad could make for some innovative gameplay. Here's the trailer for the Sarajevo portion of the game.
