One of the biggest aspects of Assassin's Creed III is the naval warfare, which is getting a good deal of attention from the Ubisoft hype-machine. As it turns out, sea battles were almost left out completely. In a new video, the developers reveal that they had serious doubts as to whether or not swashbuckling and cannonball firing was going to be feasible. As creative director Alex Hutchinson puts it, naval warfare "was not a set-in stone feature," and one of the producers said it was never going to work.
