You can customize the GamePad touchscreen. |
Today's Japanese Nintendo Direct was largely dedicated to the 3DS, but there were a few things said about the Wii U. It was revealed that players will be able to customize the touchscreen of the GamePad and use it to view data. It will also be possible to play the game using only the Wii U Pro Controller. In addition to this, the game's online will be free, and the 3DS DLC quests will be included in the Wii U version.
There was also a presentation about the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X, but that game is still scheduled for release only in Japan. There is no English translation available for the Dragon Quest X presentation, or even a Japanese transcript that I can run through Google Translate, so I can't really report on what was said.
Wii U Only gets a decent amount of traffic from Japan, so I've posted the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Dragon Quest X segments below. There is some gameplay footage of both titles, so it might be worth a look even if you don't speak Japanese. Videos after the break.
