Nintendo confirms New Super Mario Bros. U will not run in 1080p

Squirrel Mario in New Super Mario Bros. U

Nintendo recently launched the official website for New Super Mario Bros. U, and it featured the following statement when it first went live:

"Experience Mario like never before... in full 1080p HD, only on the Wii U console!"

The next day, it was revised:

"Experience Mario like never before... in high definition, only on the Wii U console!"

There was some speculation among gamers as to what resolution the game would would support, but now the Big N has made it crystal clear that the original statment was a mistake. If you go to the official now, it currently reads:

"The previously stated information about video output for this game was inaccurate. The Wii U console supports video output of up to 1080p.
While all Wii U software titles display high definition graphics, resolution for specific titles may vary."

The official site has some new material on it. You can check it out for yourself via the following link.
