Xenoblade Chronicles dev wants to be like Bethesda Softworks

They managed to do this on the Wii. Just imagine what they could create on the Wii U.

Monolith Soft is the team behind Xenoblade Chronicles, and they're currently working on an unannounced game for the Wii U. The developer says it will be a challenging game, will bring people together, and should be very flashy and addicting.

Executive producer, Hirohide Sugira, says that he and his team hope their project will help rejuvenate the Japanese gaming industry, and Monolith's Michihiko Inaba wants the HD title to show that Japan can keep up with US developers when it comes to technology. Inaba also says the company's goal is to become an influential force like Bethesda Softworks, developers of the acclaimed Fallout Series.

Inaba: “I’d like to make an HD game that will wow the players. I want to show that Japan can still keep up with the USA when it comes next gen technology. Our goal is to become something like the developers of the Fallout series, Bethesda Softworks.”

Sugiura: “I believe that today’s Japanese gaming industry has lost its touch, and we’d like to do something to change that.”
