Rayman Legends dev praises Wii U
Rayman creator Michel Ancel has been praising the Wii U from the start, and he continues to speak positively about the console. In an interview with GamesTM, Ancel said that the hardware is powerful and revealed that his team has not encountered any limitations during the development of Rayman Legends. They have been taking advantage of the system's capabilities to create some truly gorgeous visuals.
“The hardware is powerful and we haven’t had any limitations. Visually, because we’ve had more time with the UbiArt engine, we were able to add a lot of depth to the graphics. You can especially see it in the backgrounds. There are more layers, more details; it feels more like a landscape. We’ve also done a lot with the lighting effects, both in gameplay and graphics.” -Michael Ancel
Rayman Legends is scheduled for release in North America on February 26. It will be available in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe on March 1. The demo is already available for download from the eShop. You can watch 23 minutes of gameplay footage after the break.
