Renegade Kid "definitely" making more Wii U games

Mutant Mudds Deluxe on Wii U GamePad

In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham spoke highly of the Wii U, calling it "a great console." He also revealed the company will "definitely" make more games for the system.

Bringing Mutant Mudds Deluxe to the Wii U has been a lot of fun. Playing it on the GamePad and TV is a really fun and different experience. We will definitely be developing more Wii U games in the future.

Watsham also feels that eShop titles tend to have higher difficulty levels than full-fledged retailed games, and said that Mutant Mudds follows that pattern with "hardcore players" in mind.

It seems as though the collective conscience decided to develop games for hardcore players instead of casual players this round. Mutant Mudds was definitely made for the type of gamer who wants and enjoys a challenge, and also likes unlocking many layers of hidden content.

Watsham then spoke briefly about the Wii U version of the game, saying that the introduction of checkpoints will widen its appeal and allow more players to enjoy the game.

Regarding improvements for the Wii U version, the only addition in that regard is the checkpoints really. I think this is an improvement in the way that it enables more players to enjoy the game and not get frustrated by the challenge presented.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe features all of the content of the 3DS version plus an additional twenty Ghost World levels which will be exclusive to the Wii U version. The checkpoints are optional and can be disabled by players who prefer a higher level of difficulty.
