The Witness could come to Wii U
During Monday's PlayStation 4 presentation, game developer Jonathan Blow confirmed that his studio's next game, The Witness, would be coming to Sony's new console. As it turns out, the game will be a "timed exclusive," meaning that it could be ported to other systems following its original release. Here's what Jonathan Blow told Joystiq regarding the matter:
Basically, you'll see The Witness on PS4 before you'll see it on the next Microsoft console or on the Wii U, presuming we eventually do ports to those consoles. Ideally we want the game to be in as many places as we can get it, but since we are a small developer and it's a complicated game, we can only do so much at once.
While that's far from a guarantee, it's good to know that indie developers are keeping Nintendo's console in mind.
Not much is known about The Witness so far, but it appears to be a first-person exploration title which features puzzles vary prominently. Many have compared it the classic game Myst, and judging from the trailer, that seems like a fair comparison. Video after the break.
