Electronic Arts has confirmed that Madden NFL 25 is not in development for the Wii U. EA had already confirmed that it has no plans on releasing future Madden games for the 3DS either. This marks the first time that the series will skip Nintendo's systems completely since it debuted on the SNES in 1991.
Nintendo World Report received the following statement from the publisher:
We will not be releasing a Wii U version of Madden NFL in 2013. However, we have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for delivering additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future.
For now it appears that Madden NFL 13 will be the only option for Wii U owners to get their football fix.
