New Super Luigi U - Japanese Nintendo Direct Trailer

Earlier today, the Big N held a Nintendo Direct presentation that focused on upcoming games in Japan. One of the titles featured was New Super Luigi U, the DLC for their hit launch title New Super Mario Bros. U. The company revealed the game is 1.5 GB in size, so if you don't have a hard drive, it will take up a decent amount of your console's storage space.

New Super Luigi U features the same world map as New Super Mario Bros. U,  but all 82 stages have been redesigned with Luigi's abilities in mind. The green-clad brother jumps higher than Mario, but it takes him slightly longer to slow down after running, which will make it more challenging than the normal game. While Mario does not appear, gamers can play as Luigi, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, and Nabbit. Iwata recently confirmed that Nabbit is invincible, although he can't use power-up items.

The digital version will be available in Japan on June 19th, and in North America and Europe on June 20th. There will be a physical version released in Europe on July 26th, and North America on August 25th, but it will be priced at $29.99, $10 more than the eShop version.

During today's Nintendo Direct, a new trailer was shown which takes a look at the game with plenty of footage. You can watch it after the break.
