According to French gaming site pockett.net, a video game based on the classic anime series The Mysterious Cities of Gold is coming to the Wii U and 3DS. Neko Entertainment, who brought Kung Fu Rabbit to the eShop, are overseeing the project, which is being developed under the supervision of Flauoua.

The show featured three heroes named Esteban, Zia and Tao, all of whom will be playable in the game. Details are scarce, but we do know that it features a top-down view and is scheduled for release in the Fall.

The series first aired in 1982-1983, but it has just been revived and new episodes are in production. Here's the opening narration of the original show:

It is the 16th century. From all over Europe, great ships sail west to conquer the New World, the Americas. The men eager to seek their fortune, to find new adventures in new lands. They long to cross uncharted seas and discover unknown countries, to find secret gold on a mountain trail high in the Andes.
