The classic NES title Mega Man has arrived on the North American Wii U Virtual Console, and Capcom is working to bring even more of their great games to the platform. In a post on Capcom-Unity, Senior Online/Community Manager Brett Elston announced that Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts will be available starting on May 16th, while Ghosts 'n Goblins will be released on May 30th.
Both games are side-scrolling platformers which are known for their extremely high difficulty. Players take on the role of knight Arthur as he sets out to rescue damsels in distress. Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts was originally released on the SNES, and is the sequel to the NES title Ghosts 'n Goblins. It seems kind of odd that the second entry in the series is being re-released first, but I suppose it doesn't really matter.
Elston also took the opportunity to announce that more classic Capcom titles are on the way as well.
This is just the beginning, too. We have more titles in the pipeline and will have an update on them as soon as there are more details.
-Brett Elston, Senior Online/Community Manager at Capcom
We already know that Street Fighter II is on the way, as it appeared in the recent Wii U Virtual Console promotional video. It will be interesting to see what else the company has in store for Nintendo fans.
