Australian developer Witch Beam have confirmed that their twin-stick shooter Assault Android Cactus is coming to the Wii U eShop. The shooter sees players in the role of Cactus, "an enthusiastic police android," that is sent out to rescue a ship overrun by malfunctioning robots. As you would expect, Cactus will save the day by destroying the robots, including a few bosses. The music and stages will adjust to your gameplay, and their are four playable characters which each have a unique feel. In addition, four-player local co-op has been confirmed.

The top-down shoot 'em up is coming to PC, Mac, and Linux towards the end of 2013, while the Wii U, PS4, and Vita versions are scheduled for release in early 2014. Trailer after the break.
