FAST Racing Neo coming to Wii U eShop

Promotional image for Wii U eShop game FAST Racing Neo

Developer Shin'en Multimedia has announced that their next Wii U game is titled FAST Racing Neo. The image you see above comes straight from the company's official website. Details are scarce at the moment, but it seems more than likely that it will be a proper sequel to the WiiWare game, FAST Racing League, rather than an enhanced remake like we've seen with a few other downloadable titles.

The original game received very high marks when it was originally released, and has made many WiiWare top ten lists. It was compared favorably to the classic WipeOut series and even Nintendo's own F-Zero franchise. Since it seems the Big N is not working on a new installment in the series that gave us Captain Falcon, it looks like Shin'en will be the first to deliver futuristic racing on the Wii U. For an idea of what to expect, you can find a trailer for the original WiiWare game after the break.
