Factory manufacturing Nintendo parts closes after arson attack during anti-Japan demonstrations

In China, people are holding massive anti-Japan demonstrations against businesses and factories with ties to Japanese corporations. The outcry was triggered by mounting tensions between the two countries over a set of disputed islands in the East China Sea between China and Japan. To protect employees, the Japanese corporations have begun temporarily closing down their factories until the uprising dies down. Now it appears that a factory owned by Mitsumi Electric Company, which manufactured parts for the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, was hit by an arson attack and has been shut down. They hope to reopen the factory on 9/19, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to resume operations as they do not yet know the extent of the damage. Whether or not the factory was producing Wii U parts is unclear at this time, but if it was, this could have an impact on Nintendo's ability to meet consumer demand for the up-and-coming system.
