Yellow Yoshis light the way. |
The latest issue of Game Informer seems to be a goldmine for Wii U info. We learned more about Nintendo Land and its minigames Metroid Blast and discovered the existence of Balloon Trip Breeze, and there has been a lot of new information about New Super Mario Bros. U. As it turns out, there is even more info about NSMBU than was originally reported. Once again, this information was written in a jumble, so I took the liberty of organizing it. Here are the latest details:
-Three different Yoshis: Pink, Gold, and Blue
-Pink Yoshi
-inflated by shaking GamePad/Wii Remote
-lets players fly higher than flying suits do
-Pink Yoshi's don't help with horizontal movement
-large surface areas are useful take-off spots for collecting airborne coins
-Gold Yoshi
-shake the controller to make him glow and light up immediate area
-stuns nearby enemies
-show up in Fire Snake Caverns
-Blue Yoshi
-shoots bubbles
-bubbles trap small enemies
-All Yoshis
-players can ride adult versions
-can eat breaks
-eating 5 breaks fills meter, rewards rider with power up
-Camera zooms out in co-op mode, lets you see hidden star coins and pipes you normally wouldn't come across in single player
-Boost Mode
-activated by powering up GamePad
-four floating platforms can be placed at any given time
-GamePad touch screen is used to:
-pop friends out of bubbles
-stun enemies
-make it easier to reach the flagpole
-manipulate objects in the environment
-swat flying Parakoopas out of the sky
-Boost Rush Mode
-Pre-selected packs of levels with auto-scrolling camera
-collecting coins makes the screen scroll faster
-limited amount of lives given at the start of each pack of levels
-dying doesn't reset the clock
