Rochard is one game that runs on the Unity Engine. It won lots of awards. |
Unity Technologies are the creators of the Unity Engine, which supports mobile and digital games. Nintendo has now partnered with the company to bring the Engine, and its 1.2 million licensed developers, to the Wii U. Unity CEO David Helgason told Engadget it is "extremely easy" to port Unity Engine-powered games to the Wii U, and opens the door for "thousands of studios currently developing mobile and social games" to port their existing titles to the new console. The effects of the agreement aren't immediate, however. The deal doesn't go live until 2013. Still, it looks like the list of Wii U games is about to get a whole lot bigger.
