In Japan, Wii U GamePads will be sold as standalone products, but that will not be the case in North America. In an interview with CVG, Nintendo of America's PR director said they will not be selling GamePads as standalone products because it would confuse consumers since there are currently no announced games that support the use of two at the same time.
