You can barely make it out. |
The guys at Nintendo Nation have really good eyes. They enlarged the picture of the Wii U packaging and were able to make out the following text on the side of the box:
-Make and share new Mii characters
-Easily interact with friends, family and people around the world with Miiverse
-Download add-on content, full games, classic games and applications from Nintendo eShop (all contents sold separately).
-Communicate with other Wii U owners in real time with Wii U Chat
We already knew about this stuff to begin with, but the last line has people talking. Nintendo has not officially announced anything called "Wii U Chat," but Nintendo Nation believes that it is the name of the Wii U's video chat that was featured in the big N's pre-E3 Nintendo Direct broadcast. The same video in which the owner of Non-Specific Action Figure talked to an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair via the GamePad's camera.
"Have you upgraded your scanner, ding-dong?" - This is probably Wii U Chat. |
The website also speculated that, given the fact these features (Mii sharing, Miiverse, eShop) are all mentioned on the packaging, they will be available at launch. Makes sense to me. Kudos to Nintendo Nation and their eyes for detail.
