Earlier today, Nintendo released their financial report which revealed they have suffered a 28 billion Yen loss for the first six months of this financial year, which is the equivalent of $350.7 million US dollars, £220 million British pounds,, or €270.2 million Euros.
In their financial report, the Big N set a sales target of 5.5 million Wii U consoles for the financial year, which ends on March 31st, around the same time the so called "launch window" ends. They have set also set a Wii U games sales target of 24 million, which would require the average Wii U owner to buy four or five games. As some have noted, that's a rather high attach rate for a new console. It will be interesting to see how accurate Nintendo's forecast is when April comes around.
