It seems a lot like Wii Sports, but it's not made by Nintendo. |
In the Wii U reveal trailer at last E3 2011, Nintendo showed the GamePad being used by players to spot their ball in Wii Sports Golf and catch fly balls in Wii Sports Baseball. Based on the video, many gamers expected the Big N would have an enhanced version of their best-seller for the Wii U, but no such announcement has been made. It appears the company was merely using the Wii's pack-in to showcase the unique features of the new high tech controller.
Ubisoft is filling the void with a sports mini-game compilation of their own: ESPN Sports Connection. It was originally known simply as Sports Connection but Ubisoft has gotten the popular sports cable network to lend their name to the game, giving it a more high-profile title. Even though it's been confirmed as a launch day game, it hasn't gotten much attention from the press. According to The Verge, it will have six different sports: baseball, football, soccer, tennis, golf, and karting. For those of you who haven't seen it, you can watch the trailer after the break.
