Shortly after the 3DS version of Mighty Switch Force was released, developer WayForward issued a free update which gave players an additional 5 levels, and made a few small changes meant to enhance the title. The company was recently asked if they might do something similar for the Wii U version of the game, and they said it's entirely possible.

“You know it’s hard to say just yet. I mean we don’t have any plans, I should say that. Then again, we didn’t have any plans to add new levels for the first one. If it does well and people like it then yeah we’ll keep adding stuff.” - Voldi Way, founder of WayForward

“We can keep on adding levels if you guys want.” - Chris Schroder, level designer

Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition is currently the ninth most downloaded game from the Wii U eShop. For reference, the Big N's own Nintendo Land is number ten.
