Here's a pair of New Super Mario Bros. U gameplay videos. The first one is from the Layer Cake Desert area, and shows a glimpse of the power-up selection screen, followed by a mini-stage enemy battle. It is very reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. 3, and even features music from that classic game. The second video shows Mario swimming through the Haunted Shipwreck in Sparkling Waters, which really reminds me of the ghost ship in Super Mario World. Nintendo seems to have done a really good job with the nostalgia factor. Videos after the break.
