Two Tribes confirms Toki Tori 2 will be released on April 4th

Toki Tori 2 has had a much longer development period than expected. The game was originally set to release in December, but developer Two Tribes decided to delay the Wii U version so they could make some improvements. As a result, the game now runs at "a silky smooth 60 frames per second" rather than 30 as it did before, and some areas were given a complete overhaul so that it would provide gamers with the best experience possible.

Two Tribes recently announced that the eShop title would be released on April 4th, but it wasn't a sure thing as Nintendo had not yet reviewed it for approval. Now, Two Tribes has confirmed that the Big N has approved it for release on their digital store, and the game will be released as planned.

The Wii U version will feature the Tokidex, which allows players to use the GamePad's screen as a camera to take pictures of creatures and objects in the game's world. You can watch 6 and a half minutes of gameplay footage after the break.
