Rayman Legends delay has allowed Ubisoft to add 30 new levels and more bosses

In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Rayman creator Michael Ancel discussed Ubisoft's decisions to make Rayman Legends a multiplatform game and delay the release of the Wii U version so that it could launch simultaneously on all platforms. Ancel said that he "wasn't shocked" by the outcry from fans who wanted the platformer to release on time, and said it was difficult for the development team as well.

"No, I wasn't shocked, but it was really hard for us. Of course, there are more important issues and problems in the world but we worked really hard to make something and were so involved, it was difficult for us and the fans."

Ancel then revealed that the delay has allowed the team to add more polish to the game, and create a ton of new content. In fact, an additional 30 levels have been created, and several new bosses will appear as well.

"Trust me, the things we are adding aren't minor. We're not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses."

In February, Ancel announced that Ubisoft is going to release the full Online Challenge Mode for Rayman Legends exclusively on the Wii U, and will be available to download from the eShop for free. Nintendo has now confirmed that the second demo containing four levels along with the full online modes is due later this month. New challenges will be added daily and weekly, each of which will have its own leaderboards.
