Gotham City is massive. |
Warner Bros. recently announced that Batman: Arkham Origins is coming to the Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this October. The prequel takes place before the first two games set in the "Arkhamverse," featuring a much younger and more unrefined Dark Knight as he encounters a number of villains for the first time on a cold winter night.
Arkham Origins takes place in Gotham City itself, which is reportedly 4 times the size of Arkham City. New types of enemies have been created, including the Armored Enforcer and Martial Artist who can actually counter Batman's attacks, making players think more while engaged in combat. In addition, a new gadget called the Remote Claw will make its debut in the series, which can latch onto enemies and objects, allowing for all kinds of take downs. As for villains, it has been confirmed that Black Mask, the Penguin, Deathstroke, Bane, Anarky, Captain Gordon, and The Joker will all make appearances, along with plenty of other iconic foes.
This info comes from YouTube user Kwing, who attended E3 2013 and got an in-depth look at the triple-A game. He has uploaded a video which clocks in at just over 21 minutes long, featuring plenty of gameplay footage and commentary about the title's many features. In addition, the video also includes some footage of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, which is in development for the 3DS and Vita, and takes place just after Origins. Video after the break.
