Call of Duty: Ghosts - Wii U overview

Box art for Wii U version of Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts was released on November 5th for almost all platforms including the Wii U, and has received mixed but generally positive reviews. As of this writing, the Xbox 360 version currently has a Metacritic score of 74 out of 100, and the PS3 version has an average of 76. As with many multiplatform titles, Metacritic doesn't have a single review specifically for the Wii U version.

For those of you thinking about picking it up for Nintendo's console, here's an overview of what it's missing, as well as what it has that the others don't, courtesy of the user reviews on Amazon:

  • Missing bonus map and DLC (Activision may port it depending on sales)
  • No clan registry
  • Supports Off-TV Play
  • Local co-op with a dedicated screen for each player (one uses TV, other uses GamePad)
  • Wii Remote and Nunchuk support
  • Smaller community of users than other platforms

The user reviews say that the graphics are on par with the current-gen systems (360 and PS3) and that it's pretty much the same game except without the DLC and clan registry. They are advising gamers to do their homework before making a purchase and I would too, especially since there doesn't seem to be any guarantee that the DLC will see a release on the Wii U.
