During this morning's Nintendo Direct presentation, company president Satoru Iwata announced Dr. Luigi for the Wii U. The game is essentially a remake of the classic Dr. Mario with Luigi in the title role. While the gameplay will be very familiar, it appears it will have plenty of new features to set it apart from all the previous titles in the virus-busting puzzle series. L-shaped capsules have been added to the mix, along with a new versus mode. This previously unannounced eShop title will be available for download starting December 31st in North America, and January 15th in Europe. Trailer after the break.
