Box art for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and GamesCom trailer

Box art for Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Pretty much the same as the Xbox 360 and PS3. Click for full-size.

Namco Bandai has revealed the box art for the Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2. While the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 3DS played host to Tekken Advance and Tekken 3D: Prime EditionTag Tournament 2 will be the first entry in the series to come to a full-blown Nintendo home console. I just thought that was an interesting fact I'd share with you guys.

In an interview with GamesRadar earlier this year, producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed the Wii U version won't be exactly like the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but will have unique "Nintendo-like" modes. If you don't remember, at E3 footage was shown of a large mushroom that appeared and was promptly eaten by Heihachi Mishima, making him grow quite large, an obvious nod to Super Mario Bros. In addition to these unique modes, Harada also revealed that the Wii U version will have features tailored to the GamePad tablet controller. It will be interesting to see how the company makes use of the console's unique capabilities. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be launching next week, while the Wii U version is scheduled for a "Winter 2012" release. You can view the GamesCom trailer for the game after the break.
