During E3 last year, Nintendo released a promotional video showing off the features of the GamePad via the mini-game compilation
Nintendo Land. One of the minigames was titled
Battle Mii, which was obviously based on the long-running
Metroid series. Now, the big N has finally settled on an official name for the mini-game:
"Metroid Blast." This information comes from the latest issue of Game Informer, which is focusing on Wii U games. Apparently someone got their hands on said issue and has posted scans of it in an online forum. The scans have since been taken down, most likely due to legal issues, but it appears the mini-game has been expanded quite a bit, as one screenshot has the words "tap here to return to story." You can see the story in its entirety in the newest issue of Game Informer.
Due to legal issues, Wii U Only won't be posting any of the leaked images...but who needs pictures when you have video! You can check out the staff of Nintendo World Report blasting each other after the break.
