Developer Frozenbyte has confirmed that Voice Chat support is coming to the Wii U version of Trine 2 sometime in December. The following statement comes from a YouTube comment by the company itself.
Thanks, glad to hear! We will add voice chat support in an update in December :)
However you'll need a headset with a separate mic - the GamePad mic doesn't work directly sadly.
