You can play Wii U games off an SD card

SD card in USB card reader, plugged into USB port of Wii U

Before the Wii U launched, Nintendo confirmed that software could not be played from an SD card. However, it appears that it is possible thanks to a workaround. YouTube user Shokio has posted a video showing that if you insert an SD card into a USB card reader, then insert it into the Wii U USB port, the console will treat it as a USB thumb drive, allowing you to move and play software directly from it. Pretty cool if you ask me. Video after the break.
