Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate servers will be region-locked

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has been on sale in Japan for a few months, and will soon be released in the rest of the world. If you were hoping to connect with friends from around the globe, this might come as a disappointment: the servers for the game will be region-locked, meaning you will only be able to play online with other players who live in your territory.

As you can imagine, Capcom-Unity members have responded negatively to the announcement. Capcom community specialist Yuri Araujo, who is known for being quite a Monster Hunter fan, is not happy with the news either. He made a post on the site, telling users that he has heard their complaints and will "pass it along" to others within the company.

I’m not thrilled with the servers being split either… I am definitely aware of the demand and feedback, not only in this thread, but also from threads before finding out these bad news; so be sure that I will pass it along.

There is no guarantee this will change though. =/
