Minecraft has been released on a number of different platforms including PC, smartphones, and Xbox Live Arcade, but it appears that it won't be coming to the Wii U. According to Edge Online, Jens Bergensten of developer Mojang has explained that Microsoft has secured it as an Xbox 360 exclusive, meaning it can't be released on another console. While the time for the exclusivity deal is running out, it appears that Mojang isn't really thinking about bringing Minecraft to Nintendo's new console
Microsoft has an exclusivity deal for consoles. When it runs out we’ll consider Minecraft for PlayStation, but Wii U is very unlikely.
-Jens BergenstenFor those of you who haven't followed the craze, Minecraft is a sandbox game where players can build just about anything they can imagine with different types of blocks. It has sold over 20 million copies across all platforms and has made creator Markus "Notch" Persson quite famous.
