The Wii U version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted will be released in just a few days, and features a number of enhancements over the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. In addition, the Ultimate Speed Pack, which was originally released as paid DLC for the other platformers, is included on-disc.
However, there are questions as to whether or not any future DLC will be coming to Nintendo's platform. A fan recently asked Criterion's Alex Ward if Wii U owners could expect to see more downloadable material. Ward's initial response was not very encouraging.
@damianmer @nazhz No plans at present.

And yet, it appears there is still hope. When another fan pleaded with Ward to bring the 3 new DLC packs to the platform, he said it could happen if sales are strong enough.
@mariobros27772 Only one way to solve this. Support the game. If the sales are there it makes sense to do the DLC. Simple as that.

I have been looking at how other websites are reporting this story and it's pretty sad. None of them seem to be mentioning Ward's follow-up comment that the Wii U will get the DLC "if the sales are there," and the headlines say things like "Need for Speed: Most Wanted U not getting DLC" as if it's a sure thing. It has been hours since Ward's second tweet and yet their articles have not been updated.
Criterion seems to be one of the few developers who are trying to deliver Nintendo fans a superior experience. Eurogamer has actually put together an article about Need for Speed: Most Wanted U that talks about all of the work Criterion has done to make it run so well on the Wii U. The members of the development team shared their thoughts on how powerful Nintendo's new console really is, and their comments about how the system easily handles the higher-quality textures of the PC version are really encouraging. The article also features a gameplay video with about 4 and a half minutes of footage. You should definitely check it out. Here's the link:
