Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming to Wii U

Nintendo has issued a press release which confirms Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is coming to the Wii U. It is scheduled for release in North America on August 20th, Europe and PAL territories on August 22nd, and the UK on August 23rd.

The game is a continuation of the Splinter Cell franchise starring Sam Fisher. In Blacklist, Fisher and his team must hunt down a group of terrorists who are launching attacks on United States assets. Voice actor Eric Johnson will be playing the part of Fisher, as Michael Ironside has decided not to reprise his role as the protagonist.

Ubisoft has not yet revealed how they intend to use the features of the GamePad, but considering how much support they've given the console, it seems like a given that they will make use of the high-tech controller in some interesting ways.
