Nintendo confirms not all motion-based Wii U games will require MotionPlus

Wii Remote with MotionPlus attachment
If you don't have the newer Wiimotes with MotionPlus built-in, you might not have to spend extra cash.

A vgchartz user has uploaded a scan of a page from the latest issue of Game Informer which says it's up to developers to decide whether or not to require Wii MotionPlus for their Wii U games. It  has already been confirmed that the motion-focused games in Nintendo Land, such as Metroid Blast, will require the enhanced sensing capabilities, but it is now clear that it won't be a requirement for all motion-based Wii U games. It will be interesting to see how third-parties handle motion-controls when the console finally launches.
