The Wii version got very good reviews.
Five days ago, we reported that Square Enix would be revealing details about the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X at the Tokyo Games Show, and now they have teased us with a little more information. Today, the company announced they will be showing off a stage called "Dragon Quest X Wii U Demonstration Stage," which will be hosted by producer Yousuke Saito. The name of the stage isn't very creative, but it certainly is descriptive. The word demonstration implies there may be a live demo of the game as opposed to pre-recorded footage, but it isn't 100% clear that this will be the case.

Attendants might be disappointed to hear this, but Square Enix has declared the game will not be available in playable form on the floor. Still, producer Yousuke Saito and director Jin Fujisawa will be there in person to answer questions about the upcoming title.

Dragon Quest X was announced on September 5th, 2011, almost one year ago. The Wii version of the MMORPG was released exclusively in Japan on August 2nd of this year, but a Wii U version is in the works. Now, Square Enix has announced that they will reveal more details about the Wii U version at this year's Tokyo Games Show, which will take place from September 20th-23rd. The Wii version had a very positive reception in its homeland, receiving a 36 out of 40 from the venerable Famitsu. One reviewer said "it's very kind to people who aren't familiar with online RPGs, and the whole thing's designed to make it as fun and accessible as possible to work with other players and go off on adventures."

Square Enix is planning to make a beta of the Wii U version available for gamers to play around Valentine's Day of 2013, and according to producer Yosuke Saito, the game is "extremely beautiful." We'll be following this one. Be sure to check back during the Tokyo Games Show. If you like RPGs, especially the massively multiplayer online type, you should check out the trailer for the Wii version after the break.
